🎨 A Cultural Day in Cologne 🇩🇪

A full day on foot through one of Germany's great cities — cathedral, river, old town, and world-class art.** ☀️ The second half of our Cologne weekend (the first being Saturday's *Raising the Bar* Kölsch crawl 🍺) is a relaxed cultural wander through the city. We'll take our time, tell the stories of the places we pass, and soak up a city that layers Roman origins, medieval grandeur and post-war reinvention on top of each other. *** ##### 🚶 The day We'll explore Cologne's historic heart on foot — its riverfront, its old town, its squares and hidden corners — with plenty of stops along the way. I'll keep most of the route a surprise (as always 😏), but naturally the day includes the one landmark no one could miss: the mighty **Gothic cathedral** that towers over the whole city. We'll also break for a proper, relaxed lunch somewhere fitting. 🍽️ *** ##### 🖼️ The two museums — your choice There's one thing worth flagging in advance. During the day we'll visit **two of Cologne's excellent art museums**: the **Museum Ludwig**, one of Europe's great collections of modern and contemporary art (some of the biggest names of the 20th century — Pop Art, Picasso and more), and the **Wallraf-Richartz Museum**, home to the old masters, from the medieval period to the 19th century. **Both have paid admission**, so entry is entirely up to you: whoever wants to come in, comes in; whoever prefers to skip it can take a coffee, wander a little, and we'll all regroup at the exit. 👍 No pressure either way — I'll make the timings clear on the day so no one gets lost. *** ##### 🗓️ Practical info * **📅 When:** Sunday 6 September 2026 · from 11:00 * **📍 Where:** Cologne (exact meeting point shared closer to the date) * **🎟️ Museums:** Museum Ludwig & Wallraf-Richartz — two optional paid entries during the day, join whichever you like * **🚶 Expect:** a full day of walking, so comfortable shoes * **🌐 Language:** English *** ##### 👀 Who's this for?
